You’re not afraid of failing - you’re afraid of FEELING.

We’ve got to clear something up - I keep hearing you say that you're not making the next money move for yourself because you're afraid of "failing."

So you're sitting there on the other side of our call telling me that you're afraid to make the boundary or raise your prices with your client because you're afraid of their reaction.

"What if they get mad at me?? Or what if they quit working with me??"

Then I say, "If that happens, then what would you do? Quit? Go find a 9-5 instead of being your own boss?"

And you tell me, "well, no, I would just go back to trying to get more clients."

And then I say, "so your worst case scenario is that your client leaves you and then you work on getting more clients, just like you already were?"

(Oh! And 10/10 the client we're talking about is one you secretly wish you could leave anyways because they're usually over asking & it actually feels like kind of a relief to let them go)

And then you say, "yeah..I guess you're right. I'm not quitting."

You see - even in your own worst case scenario, you won't quit.

You can't quit.

You don't know how.

Because people like you & me, once we tap into that fire deep inside of us burning bright & telling us YOU'RE MEANT FOR MORE, we can't unsee it. We can't unfeel it.

We are destined to stay on this path no matter what.

Does that mean we won't ever have to sit through dark, sticky moments that trigger us into old feelings of unworthiness & rejection? Nope! That's part of the gig!

That's part of what it means not to check out as you clock in & out over & over building someone else's dream.

But let's watch our language around using words like "failing,"

Because the truth is, you & me are both actually afraid of FEELING more than we are of failing.

Because quitting just isn't in our DNA anymore.
